General Information about the Hearing

The Assembly Committee on Jobs, Economic Development, and the Economy (JEDE) will be conducting an informational hearing to examine strategies that support an inclusive economic recovery. 

In this second in a series of hearings on economic recovery, will continue to examine how the state can innovate program and service delivery to address the needs of those most impacted by the economic fallout from COVID-19.  During the course of the hearing, witnesses will share information and engage with Committee Members on issues relating to access to capital and services available to help workers upskills and obtain new and higher skilled jobs.  The hearing will also feature stakeholder discussions on important components of the state economic recovery including support for manufacturing, infrastructure development, and use of the state procurement to support a wide range of small business and DVBE vendors.

The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at the California State Capitol, Room 4202, from 9:30 am until 12:00 noon.

Who is JEDE?

JEDE is the policy committee within the California State Assembly responsible for reviewing policies and legislation related to small business development, international trade, and other economic development related issues.  The committee regularly publishes reports on these areas of interest.  Copies of these reports are available online at ajed.assembly.ca.gov.
