JEDE Small Business Roundtable, Convenued on July 23, 2020

During the course of the conference call we will be referring to documents and links on this page and the JEDE COVID-19 Resource Page.

Future Meeting Schedule

We are now going to be meeting on the third Thursday of the month, beginning at 2:00 pm.  The next meeting of the JEDE Small Business Roundtable is on Thursday, August 20, at 2:00 pm.  Following that meeting, we will meet on September 17, October 15, and November 19.

  • Consumer Protections for Small Business Lending:  Heidi Pickman, CAMEO, updated participants on her organization’s efforts to add small dollar lending protections to legislation during the final days of session.  https://esd.dof.ca.gov/dofpublic/public/trailerBill/pdf/35  The Coronavirus pandemic has heighted the problem of predatory lending.  To follow-up with Heidi, she can be reached at hpickman@cameonetwork.org.

  • Small Business Issues:  Betty Jo Toccoli shared her email for stakeholders interested in following-up on her discussion of top tier challenges facing small businesses.  To follow-up with Betty Jo, she can be reached at bjtcsba@pacbell.net

  • Free Masks and Hand Sanitizer:  3CORE is sharing information on their mask and sanitizer distribution.  Many small business stakeholders are participating in the free distributions.  We want to encourage groups to help outreach on these events.  3CORE sample documents for their Fortuna distribution are attached.  If your groups is sponsoring a free mask give away – share your materials!

  • New IBank Funding:  Small Business Majority is sharing information on two upcoming workshops which will include, among other information, an update on the new IBank Funds
