Opportunity Zone Resource Centers

Since their authorization in December 2017, Opportunity Zones have been a key topic among economic and community development professionals.  Several leading tax and economic development professionals have created Resource Centers.  Below are several, which have come to the attention of the Assembly Jobs Committee.  The access to each of these Resource Centers is free.  **The links are provided as information, only, and are not intended to serve as tax advise or confirmation as to the accuracy of the information on the website.

U.S. Economic Development Administration - OFFICIAL government website
Includes information on EDA's investments in Opportunity Zones, news clips, and press releases from the federal government on Opportunity Zones activities.

**EDA Publishes FY 2020 Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance Programs Notice of Funding Opportunity.  The federal Economic Development Administration (EDA) is soliciting applications for construction, non-construction, planning, technical assistance, and revolving loan fund projects under EDA’s Public Works program and Economic Adjustment Assistance program.  This includes supporting projects in Opportunity Zones.

CalOZ Website - Maintained by a newly launched organization dedicated to maximizing the transformative potential of Opportunity Zones in California.
Includes information on California-specific resources, advocacy at the state and local levels, and a map of California Opportunity Zones

 

CALED Website - Maintained by the California Association for Local Economic Development, a statewide economic development professional association that includes many of California's local government, as well as nonprofit economic development organizations.
Includes an Investment Check List for local communities

Opportunity 360 - maintained by Enterprise Community Partners

Includes a data platform that facilitates the development of a free social-economic report on every Opportunity Zone with over 200 data points per census tract.

Opportunity Zone Resource Center - maintained by Novogradac and Company

Includes news updates, Opportunity Zone basics, as well as information on an Opportunity Zones Work Group.
