The March 19, 2020, AGENDA was been revised from its initial version to focus on COVID-19. A list of questions (available in the top right box) will help to frae the discussion. In addition, JEDE staff will answer questions regarding the status of bills and hearings in light of COVID-19.

Small Business Majority is Continuing its COVID-19 webinars. At this link you will find announcements about new webinars, as well as access recordings of earlier events.
CALED is developing a platform geared toward economic developers. CALED is also looking for best practices, which can be shared with other areas of the state. If you would like to contribute, Michelle@caled.org is interested in hearing from you.
New Funding proposal for small business technical assistance. This is an effort led by the CalAsian Chamber of Commerce. To sign on to the letter, please contact David at dnelson@calasiancc.org.
Small Business Majority has published the California Policy Agenda to address COVID-19, which includes recommendations for state, federal, and local officials. This includes, among other recommendations: ensuring access to continued and new forms of credit, providing immediate cash flow and small business resources, and ensuring fair and open markets.
REDF, a nonprofit advocating on issues relating to employment social enterprise, has published its COVID-19 policy recommendations. California SBDC has a new resource guide for COVID-19. Thank you to the Imperial Valley EDC for sharing a copy with JEDE.
The construction industry has been looking for more direction about which projects can go forward, including more clear definitions of which projects qualify as "public works" and "affordable housing." The Legislative Analyst's Office released an economic prospective, which clearly states that small businesses are to be among the primary groups impacted by COVID-19.
California has a new webpage for those interested in just the highlights. It is very user friendly, translates into many languages, and could be a good addition to your organization's own outreach.
Every County in California is authorized for the SBA Disaster Economic Injury Loans. Many groups have been holding webinars explaining the program and how businesses can apply. This is the most current SBA handout on the program.
